Blue Sky Church - 2015

GCH is excited to announce the opening of Blue Sky Church in Bellevue, WA!  In collaboration with SkB Architects, GCH developed a landscape architectural design that integrates the existing site with proposed building renovations. A signature water feature frames the building entry while providing a unique and interactive water element.  An event lawn offers space for large social gatherings, and seating throughout the site provides opportunities for solitude and thought. Building geometries and materials are extended into the landscape, creating a sense of harmony and balance throughout the entire site.

Emirates Australian Open underway! - 2014

GCH is pleased to recognize the Australian Open golf tournament underway this week at The Australian Golf Club in Sydney.  GCH has been working with The Australian Golf Club  (the oldest golf club in Australia) and Nicklaus Design since 2011 preparing the Club for the 2014 Open.   The renovations were focused largely on creating a more prominent parkland character on the course and establishing a more exciting and picturesque backdrop for this historic Club in Australia.    Players and media alike are responding with overwhelming excitement to the renovations and improvements on the course.

World number one golfer, Rory McIlroy is defending his Australian Open title this year.  With a win this year he will join Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player as the only non-Australian players to have won back-to-back Australian Open titles.

GCH is honored to have worked with this prestigious Club and Nicklaus Design on this important project and continue to serve The Australian Golf Club with ongoing improvements.

Rockhill Golf Course at Sky 72 in South Korea recently held the 57th Korean Professional Golf Championship. GCH has continued to work with Sky 72 on the landscape renovation of their golf courses. A holistic approach has been taken in designing a natural landscape that is complimentary to the rugged rocky outcrops and vast expanses of water throughout the Rockhill course. Careful consideration is given to the development so that large tournaments can be hosted with ample room for galleries. Strong groupings of evergreens and colorful deciduous trees are accented with fescues and seasonal wildflowers to give the course a constantly changing landscape throughout the year.

American Lake Veterans Golf Course - 2014

The American Lake Veterans Golf Course serves 24,000 veterans and active duty service men and women a year and is currently the nation’s only golf course designed specifically for the rehabilitation of wounded and disabled veterans.  Presently the 9-Hole golf course provides rehabilitation, treatment, and recreational use to veterans and service men and women who have returned home, many with the physical and emotional wounds of war.  The course allows them to rehabilitate themselves both physically and emotionally in a positive, therapeutic and accepting social environment.   Admirably, the course, facilities, and programs are wholly managed and maintained by volunteers.  GCH worked pro bono with Nicklaus Design and American Lake Veterans Golf Club to develop a conceptual landscape design for the “New Nine” with all the playability and rehabilitation requirements of the current programs being utilized on the existing nine holes.  We look forward to construction starting this summer!
