1Hotel Seattle was recently awarded a Michelin Key in recognition of its exceptional quality. Congratulations to 1Hotel Seattle, owner Starwood Hotels, and the design team for their remarkable efforts in transforming this incredible property.

GCH is proud to have contributed to redefining the hotel’s landscape identity, creating vibrant public spaces featuring native plantings, designing landscapes that evoke calm and relaxation, and collaborating with a local artist specializing in living and preserved plant walls to develop several signature installations.

205 Tower - 2025

The proposed 205 Tower in Bellevue was recently featured in the Daily Journal of Commerce. GCH is collaborating with Su Development and MZA Architects to design the ground-level public plaza and gathering spaces, creating a welcoming environment that connects seamlessly with the surrounding community. The project also features on structure resident amenity terraces including lounge seating, outdoor dining, exercise terraces, and lush plantings that bring greenery and comfort to the upper levels.

Old Town Village - 2025

Construction is currently underway on the redevelopment of Bellingham’s Old Town district. GCH is collaborating with Dawson Construction and the City of Bellingham on both the urban planning and landscape architectural design to transform this former industrial area along the city’s waterfront into a vibrant new urban center.

Lakepointe - 2025

GCH recently completed the Landscape Design Guidelines and concept renderings for Lakepointe Urban Village, a planned community center at the northern gateway of Covington, Washington. The guidelines establish a cohesive framework for creating vibrant outdoor spaces that connect neighborhoods, commercial areas, and public amenities. They emphasize a strong relationship between the built environment and the natural landscape, supporting parks, trails, plazas, and open spaces that encourage community interaction and a sense of place.

Snoqualmie Casino - 2025

GCH has been working closely with BWA Architects on the expansion to the Snoqualmie Casino, which will add a new 10-storey hotel, spa, entertainment venue, restaurants, additional gaming floor space, and a new parking structure to the existing Snoqualmie Casino. The design includes new landscape around the proposed hotel and parking structure, and a rooftop sun deck which takes advantage of views of to the Cascade Mountains.

Gatherings at Parker - 2025

GCH is working in collaboration with Bench Dog Architects to create a landscape architectural vision for Gatherings at Parker.  Situated in the city of Parker, Colorado, the project envisions a vibrant central plaza boasting captivating water features, inviting outdoor dining spaces, a fireplace, an event lawn, a performance stage, engaging children’s play zones, and pedestrian promenades.

Dupont Mixed-Use Community - 2025

This comprehensive planning project involved the analysis and planning of a 260 acre property in the City of DuPont, Washington. The project owner is currently working with the Department of Ecology to cleanup and reclaim the hazardous site that surrounds Old Fort Lake and much of The Home Course golf course. The project goal is ultimately to create a legacy project that compliments the city’s character and offers new housing and amenity opportunities for the public.

1Hotel Seattle - 2024

Renovations are underway for an existing hotel tower in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood into the newest addition to the 1Hotel portfolio. This transformative project required navigating the challenges of an existing urban structure, including careful attention to space constraints and prioritizing the preservation and replanting of healthy vegetation.

GCH played a pivotal role in redefining the hotel’s landscape identity. The scope included creating vibrant public spaces that highlight native plants, designing guest room landscapes to evoke a sense of calm and relaxation, and collaborating with a local artist specializing in living and preserved landscape walls to develop several signature installations for the property.

Wayfarer at Yesler Terrace - 2024

We are excited to announce the completion of the Wayfarer Apartments at Yesler Terrace, a collaborative project between GCH Landscape Architects, Vulcan Real Estate, and Encore Architects. The landscape design preserves several existing trees and integrates urban wildlife habitat features with new, native, and drought-tolerant plantings. Key elements include a neighborhood gateway, a series of inviting amenity zones for public use, and integrated rain gardens that highlight and celebrate on-site stormwater management.

The project also has several expansive roof terraces featuring grilling stations, decks with stunning mountain and water views, comfortable lounge areas, and a community vegetable garden. This landscape design reflects our dedication to creating vibrant public spaces and seamlessly blending this development into the evolving urban fabric of Yesler Terrace.

Washington 1000 - 2024

We are excited to announce the recent completion of landscape design work for the Washington 1000 tower, a new addition to the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle. This project introduces expansive rooftop spaces and amenities, enhancing the experience for visitors.

The design for the outdoor areas include spacious terraces, cozy lounge spaces, a dedicated dog-friendly area, dining areas for social gatherings, and versatile outdoor meeting spaces that promote both relaxation and productivity.
